Our 'IT' bag- the Elise

Our ‘IT’ bag at Henk Berg would have to be the ‘Elise’.

Gorgeous to look at and great to use, an Elise is owned by nearly all of our staff  (who really know their bags) and is one of our top sellers.

The Elise is a larger bag, yet its unique design makes it versatile allowing you to take it everywhere whether it be a picnic lunch, a work meeting or even an overnight stay.

Despite its large rectangular shape, the Elise soon softens and moulds to the shape of the wearer's body so is not too bulky to carry- thanks to the specialised vegetable tanned cowhide.

One of the best features of the Elise is the large ‘over-the-shoulder’ handles which make it easy and comfy to carry.

The length of the handles means it’s easy to sling over one shoulder and still use both of your hands. Or if you want absolute hands-free (or have really loaded the bag up) the Elise also comes with a full body length, adjustable strap to wear across your body.

With it’s long strap option and large capacity the Elise is a fantastic option for carrying luggage while commuting or travelling.

It’s designed with a large base which allows it to hold a surprising amount- it can easily hold two bottles of wine if your headed to a dinner party, or for the working woman it fits in A4 folders and documents plus your lunch! It fits most laptops as well.

It may qualify as a work related tax deduction, according to new information from the Australian Tax Office, but make sure you check the fine print before purchase.

The Elise is also often purchased as a ‘nappy bag’ by new mums who want a functional bag with plenty of room but also want to retain a sense of style.

But enough about function- the Elise features some distinctive design elements making it one of the best looking bags we make.

The subtle vegetable tanned leather detailing gives the Elise a comfortable feeling and does not look too boxy when worn against the body.

The bag is available in all the classic Henk Berg colours, each achieved through our traditional colouring method, vegetable tanning.

The classic black is versatile for any look, but the Elise is also very popular in our shades of brown for a more earthy style.
